I'd like different translations for the two examples, which is what most frequently happens with this kind of colloquialisms. Of course there are other situations when using the same structure might require a completely different translation. Also, it is important to notice that many times, in cases like these, a a complete re-write is required rather than just translating that particular part of the sentence.
