português term

jiló

português para inglês Tecn./Engenharia Comidas e Bebidas
I know what it is, but can't think of an English translation (if there is one).

One dictionary I have defines jiló as "a variety of nightshade" but I need one word, as it appears in a list of items: batata, jiló e quiabo - and I can't really put "potatoes, okra and a variety of nightshade"!

Wiki says something about scarlet. Where I live they are definitely green (just like those on google images).

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "The best option - "scarlet eggplant" sounds strange for something that, in Brazil at least, is green."
