New translation contest "Homo digital: La sociedad transparente" opens today

Hi everyone!

I’m happy to announce that the second contest of the year is kicking off today, this time with a source text in Spanish.

The timeline for this contest is:

  • July 6th - August 9th: Submissions
  • August 10th - September 6th: Hybrid (pairs with 3 to 7 entries move straight to finals, while pairs with more than 7 entries go to a qualification phase)
  • September 7th - October 5th: Finals
  • October 8th: Announcement of winners

If you work from Spanish or feel up to the challenge, see the contest and submit your entry here.

Also, the Hybrid phase is starting today for ”The Sounds of Silence”, so don’t forget you can help choose the finalists and decide the winners by rating and voting. Hope to see you around!

Happy translating,

Tatiana

Who can participate?
Entry submission is limited to ProZ.com members in pairs in which the member population is large enough to support competition (the complete list is available in the contest page). In pairs other than these, any registered user can submit an entry. Rating and voting on entries submitted by others is open to all registered users.

How about a source text in X language?
ProZ.com translation contests depend on the collaboration of participants in many aspects--voting, commenting, submitting entries, and also in finding suitable source texts in various languages (especially languages in which no member of the site team is native). You can help ensure source texts in a variety of languages for future contests by proposing a text in your native language here.

Rating and voting now open for "The Sounds of Silence" translation contest

Hi there!

The current translation contest “The Sounds of Silence” is moving into the Hybrid phase today, which will go on until August 2nd. This means that:

- Pairs with more than seven entries will move to a qualifications phase to determine the finalists.
- Pairs with three to seven entries will move straight to finals.
- And pairs with less than three entries will go to extended submissions.

If you work in any of the pairs in qualifications or finals below, please help select the finalists or determine the winners by rating or voting on your colleagues’ entries.

Thanks to the 808 participants in 77 language pairs who submitted their entries, and good luck!

Also, a new contest with a Spanish source text is starting today, so if you work from Spanish or feel up to the challenge, check it out here!

Tatiana

Hello Ramey,

Sorry to butt in here. It would be great to have a German source text for one of the upcoming contests. If you have any suggestions, please do submit them here: https://www.proz.com/translation-contests/propose_source_text
