lexical Espanha Local time: 22:06 português para inglês

I used to know how to switch this off but have forgotten! When I type, for example, 4 April 2007, Word completes it with 2007-04-04 (or perhaps 2007-4-4). I then have to delete the extra characters. Can anybody remind me how to switch this function off?
I'm using Office Professional 97 on Windows XP.

If you're typing (say) 2007, and the date appears in a box above your cursor, don't type after the "2007", as that will insert the date into your text. Instead type a space or other character, and it won't be inserted.

Hi

If you continue typing without pressing Enter on half the way, the suggestion will disappear. But if you want to turn it off completely, so that the prompt doesn’t even display, on the Insert menu, point to AutoText, and then click AutoText. Then deselect the Show AutoComplete suggestions check box.
I hope this helps.
Henry

...it's done the trick. I knew it was simple but forgot how it was done.
