How can I listen this file? Is there any special program to do it?
I tried with the default Windows Media plyer but it crashed. | | | Florence Bremond França Local time: 17:47 Membro (2002) inglês para francês + ... It's a compressed file | Sep 26, 2006 |
Like a .zip file.
You must "unrar" the file.
For instance with this

They have a demo version I think.

Put your ear very close to the monitor and make sure no other noises distract you.
RAR is a compression format (much like ZIP is a compression format). You can open it using WinRAR (which is not free) or with a plugin in 7-zip (which is free). If you have budgeted for a compression tool, WinRAR should be the one to buy. | | | There are freeware programs | Sep 26, 2006 |

I use a freeware program to decompress RAR files. I can't remember what it's called now, but I'll tell you this afternoon. If you need it before then, just use the evaluation version of winrar.
But as someone else pointed out, if you really were expecting some kind of media file, the extension might have mistakenly been put as rar instead of ram or ra. | | | Yaotl Altan México Local time: 10:47 Membro (2006) inglês para espanhol + ... CRIADOR(A) DO TÓPICO

Oh my! hehehehe Indeed, that's what I did
I have downloaded the program and it's not free. I suppose this is an open competitor for Winzip, isn't it?
Oh, Timothy, I'll really appreciate the name of that freeware program. You say it's ueful to decompress RAR files. Do I have to suppose it's useful to COMPRESSION files?

Hi,
For rar files I use QuickZip 4.60.
It's freeware and no problems up until now.
Best.

WinRAR is shareware. After a trial period of 40 days, you should buy a license or remove it from your PC.

WinRAR is not freeware and if you use it beyond the 40 day trial period, you are using unlicensed, illegal software. Then you might as well get a pirated MS Windows, a pirated MS Office, etc...
Perhaps your version of WinRAR works for 40 days of usage. Have you used it more than 40 times on different days yet?

No, I'm certainly not using pirated software. Do you think I'd be silly enough to write in here what I wrote if it was pirated?

I use it very often, every day. I winrar almost every document I send because I really like this zipping programme.
I've downloaded the programme for free in the Internet. I googled "winrar - download" and chose one of the options to download winrar.
I can send you the programme I've downloaded for you to see it, and perhaps try it.
Best,

Personally I use IZArc. It is completely free and supports many archive formats. You can download it here: http://www.izarc.org/ ▲ Collapse | | | What I do to keep on using WinRar | Oct 15, 2006 |
Actually, each time I receive a "winrared" file, instead of clicking twice and extracting the files I click with the right button of my mouse and choose the option "extract here".
I tried to click twice and there's a message saying that WinRar is shareware and I must buy it, otherwise it doesn't.

Anyway, it's not my fault if the programme still allows me to use it.
I sometimes download free trial games from the Internet and have only a 60-minute access to them and I can't play them anymore after that nor even can I download them again (or if I do - I tried it once - the game keeps on saying that my 60-minute trial is over).
I never thought I was using it illegally because the above mentioned message had never appeared. ▲ Collapse | | | To report site rules violations or get help, contact a site moderator: You can also contact site staff by submitting a support request » RAR files Trados Studio 2022 Freelance | The leading translation software used by over 270,000 translators.
