I am an assermented court interpreter for French, Hungarian and Serbocroatian. But at court I haved used in the past years also Bulgarian, Macedonian, English, Slovenian, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Polish, German, Greek, Farsi; for Embassies Finnish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Croatian, Slovenian, etc.
My mother tongue is Hungarian, the local official language is Serbian or Serbocroatian. Beyond these two, I am using at least 40 languages - as I am able to learn any language of the World at primary level in about 30 minutes. I can read any European language at 1800 pages/hour if there is need for it - and afterwards interprete 85-90% correction all the details.
The Dean of the Faculty of Finno-Ougrian languages in Budapest, told at a seminary in Subotica in 2003 that there were only 3 people in the World knowing an extinct South-Samoyedic language, the Kamas language - two French ones and me. The reason for it ? Well in 2001, I've translated the Prologue of an anthology of poems written in that language at first sight without dictionnary, having not ever learnt this language (that'an other story that the language is like deformished Finnish, and I had 4 years at Faculty of it).
When doing traductions whatever the language, the context I am using a lot of dictionnaries, paper, computer and Internet ones.
My computer knowledge : started to use computers in 1979. That's also the year of my first traduction from Spanish to Hungarian for the Cuban Embassy.
I used Office in Hungarian, English, French, Dutch, Croatian, Serbian, Spanish, Portuguese and Hebrew. For years I used also Works (versions 2, 3 and 4). Now I more and more using the Open Office, and Linux also. I have an ADSL-line for more than a year. I am now learning PHP4.
Last but not least I've written in Dreamweaver MX my website (http://www.6hunyadi-fle.org/HMA/ ) which contains my manuals of Professional French.
