Texto de origem - inglês Fanon warned of this consequence of colonialism, where the human being, as a relation of each to another, is degraded into a dual system in which for one set of people there are “selves” and “others,” and for another set there is the nether-realm of non-selves and non-others. Where ethical relationships are granted to the former, it is outlawed for the latter by virtue of them being reduced to beings without rights of appearance. For them, to appear is to violate the field of legitimate appearance. They become, in other words, violence.
Tradução - português Fanon advertiu sobre tal consequência do colonialismo, onde o ser humano, na relação de uns com os outros, é degradado num sistema dual no qual para um grupo de pessoas há “eus” e “outros”, enquanto para o outro há o não-domínio dos não-eus e não-outros. Enquanto relações éticas são conferidas aos primeiros, as mesmas são negadas aos últimos na medida em que são reduzidos à categoria de seres sem direito de representação. Para estes, aparecer significa violar o campo da representação legítima. Eles se tornam, em outras palavras, violência.
