Google "researchers who were blind" ...first interviewed by clinicians (who were aware of the diagnosis, as is normal in clinical practice), and then by researchers who were blind to the diagnosis.

not "ignore" I am pretty sure this means that the researchers are DELIBERATELY kept in the dark.

The researchers (who diagnosed the disease) were blinded to the status of the case or the control subject.

To complete the sentence, you need to include "ou controle da pessoa". It will read: "researchers who are "blind" to whether a subject is in the experimental group or control group." For the distinction, see, for example, http://www.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_difference_between_cont...
