Parece que neste caso há pressuposições demais. Cada um faz o que acha correto de acordo com o que conhece. Neste caso, todos demos "palpites" sem ter contexto. E muitos deles significam discordância implícita das respostas já dadas. E é assim que as coisas funcionam. Por que levar para o lado pessoal?

Contexto Creio que se deve ter certeza absoluta sobre a correção ou incorreção de uma resposta para se conferir um disagree. Na falta de contexto deve-se dar ao respondente "the benefit of the doubt", o que não ocorreu no caso.

this is it English-speaking people may say: a Visa card, Visa brand, or Visa-branded card. Nobody says "I carry a card with a Visa banner". That ONE exception from India out of thousands of google hits hardly counts... refs to banner ads in stores or websites such as HSBC are not adequate evidence either.
Brazilian people may say: cartão Visa, cartão com a bandeira Visa, ocasionalmente alguém dirá cartão com a marca Visa.
So that's what we call "usage": A "cartão com bandeira Visa" is a Visa-branded card - it has the Visa brand or logo on it. In this sense, "bandeira" has nothing to do with flags or banners.

That said, we should remind ourselves that the spirit here should be "translators helping translators", rather than a battle of egos.
If you suggest an answer and the majority agrees, great. You walk way with "points" that are worth less than Monopoly money.
If people disagree, they should provide some supporting evidence - such as valid examples of usage - that the term is not applicable in that context. If the majority agrees, fine. Unfortunately, some people think that convincing evidence, or even civil manners, are not really necessary.

É importante ter o contexto, mas trabalho muito com esta categoria de produto no Brasil e sempre que a palavra bandeira é mencionada é em referência à marca, nada de símbolo ou bandeira. Temos bandeira de posto de gasolina também e o significado é bandeira Petrobrás, bandeira Esso, etc.

Bandeira: Empresa responsável pela comunicação da transação entre o adquirente e o emissor do cartão de crédito. As maiores bandeiras no Brasil são Visa, MasterCard e Hipercard. Para identificar qual é o emissor do cartão, as bandeiras usam os 6 primeiros números do cartão, chamados de "bin-number". (Fonte: Wikipedia). Acho que neste caso, omitiria a palavra bandeira já que é a própria representação da marca do cartão.
