Aluminium slides
I think the term you are looking for is "aluminium slides" as in the slides used for specimens in biology. Glass slides are more commonly used but there are also aluminium slides aswell. I know this from an article I translated about fish gills, in the article fish gills were sliced and placed on aluminium slides for examination.
I've posted a link to a book that contains a diagram of an aluminium slide.
