A importância das doenças crônicas não transmissíveis (DCNT) no perfil atual de saúde das populações é extremamente relevante. Dentre as principais DCNT encontram-se a obesidade, o diabetes mellitus (DM) e a hipertensão arterial (HAS) Dados indicam que a proporção de mortes por DCNT aumentou em mais de três vezes entre as décadas de 30 e 90. Programas de educação nutricional fazem-se necessários, para melhorar os padrões de consumo que vem sendo observados atualmente. Sendo a educação nutricional um elemento fundamental na prevenção e no tratamento das DCNT e considerando-se o pequeno número documentos específicos sobre esse tema, o objetivo deste trabalho foi o de reunir as evidências mais atuais na literatura científica sobre ações de educação nutricional realizadas no Brasil e em outros países.
Tradução - inglês Chronic non-communicable diseases represent one of the main causes of death in developing countries and in Brazil’s large cities. The significance of chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCD) as regards people’s current health conditions is extremely relevant. Amongst the main CNCDs are obesity, diabetes mellitus (DM) and arterial hypertension (AHT). Data indicate that the proportion of deaths by CNCD increased over three fold between the 1930s and 1990s. Nutritional education programmes have become necessary to improve the standards of consumption that have been observed. As nutritional education is a fundamental element of CNCD prevention and treatment, and considering the small number of documents specifically about the theme, the aim of this study was to gather the latest evidence from scientific literature concerning nutritional education actions carried out in Brazil and other countries.

I am a Chartered Linguist (Translator) and Member of both the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) and the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI), and am also accredited as a professional translator (Portuguese to English) by ABRATES (Brazilian Translators' Association) and an approved member of SINTRA (Brazilian Translators' Union - associated to FIT).
In 2004 I opened my translation business, Quesco Brasil, which has Brazilian and UK offices. I provide services to all kinds of clients, from high profile multinational companies to law offices, translation agencies and individuals who need an academic text or CV translated. My company also maintains a network of translators to provide services for various other languages, including all European languages as well as Chinese, Japanese, Russian, Hindi and Arabic.
In addition to traditional language services I have also provided extensive local support and TV fixer services in Brazil and Russia, including work as the main local support contractor at the 2013 Confederations Cup and 2014 FIFA World Cup (in Brazil) as well as the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games, where a Quesco Brasil team of 60 fixers, runners and drivers successfully supported the operations of three major broadcasters: BBC Sport, Channel Four (UK) and Channel Seven (Australia). I was also the Russian translator-fixer for the BBC's lead commentary team at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
