I am a fulltime freelance German-English translator from India and have been working in this field for almost 10 years.

I have post-graduated in German (Translation) from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India, securing the highest grades in my batch. Prior to that, I completed a Bachelor's degree in English Literature from the University of Delhi, India. I have also successfully completed 6 levels of certficate course in German language from Goethe Institute, New Delhi, India.

As a freelance translator (German-English) I work for various multinationals, Indo-German collaborations, publishing houses, and translation companies in India and abroad. My broad areas of expertise include environment and energy, international org/development/co-operation, children’s literature, business and commercial, technical, IT-general, travel and tourism and general texts. I am now also trained to use the CAT tool SDL Trados Studio 2011.

I have translated over 1,50,000 words on environment and energy from German to English. These texts covered a wide range of environment related contemporary issues affecting our world. Thus, I am well acquainted with the technical environment related jargon used in international organizations across the globe.

Apart from this, I have also translated 3 Children's encyclopaedia. These include topics such as Human Body, Stars, Earth and Universe.

My translations are also supported by a thorough background research of the area of text in both source as well as target language coupled with referencing of various field-specific online and offline dictionaries and thesauri. Before the final submission of work, all documents are thoroughly proofread for spelling, punctuation, grammatical, syntactical and formatting errors.
