Só estou ilustrando o comentário que fiz. Não acho adequado traduzir por antidiabéticos, mesmo porque seu termo trata do efeito do fármaco, não do fármaco em si, caso em que até poderíamos tentar defender a tradução. Mas eu prefiro o rigor filológico neste caso também.

hipoglicemiante deriva de hipoglicemia - que causa hipoglicemia...ou hipoglicemico:)
Percebo que "potency/potent" é o mais adequado para o outro termo, mas o sufixo "ante" indica uma ação, possivelmente um agente, um princípio ativo ou algo do gênero.
Quanto ao termo, usei "potency" por enquanto, até segunda ordem.
