Reply Hi, Jane.

Thanks for caring.

The full sentence is "referente as Notas Fiscais emitidas pela empresa foram emitidas como Venda do Ativo Imobilizado sendo que na verdade, deveriam ter sido emitidas como retorno de capital"
Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) Apr 15, 2005:
unless it is based on the full context, ie full sentence.
Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) Apr 15, 2005:
The ING might be dropped altogether, it can become a completely different phrasal structure or another sentence. So any answer is worthless for your purposes.
Jane Lamb-Ruiz (X) Apr 15, 2005:
Grammar lesson: One tries to avoid ING forms of this kind -- or what looks to be that - in non-legal texts. But how can you tell the what the grammar is when only a phrase is provided? The full sentence would be required to make a proper determination.

when actually the ... should have been issued

É difícil saber sem contexto.

Peer comment(s):

agree Adalberto Brito : Now, withe context provided, I would say that the correct sentence should read: "...should have been issued..."
