Hello colleagues,

A friend of mine asked me if I could help him. He wants to have the name of his youngest son translated into Latin, and then use that as a tattoo for himself.
The name of the boy is MILAN.
I don't know if there are people here who can help me with this.
I have only had one year of Latin (my first year in secondary school) so I don't remember much about that anymore.
You can reply here, in this topic or you can also send me an e-mail.

Hello,

not sure about "Milan"... what is the meaning of the name for you?

Milan sounds to me only like the city of Milan, which is Mediolanum in Latin ("In the middle of the plain"...)

MILAN is a Slavic name meaning "dear", "beloved".

The Latin equivalent would be CAROLUS, from "carus" = dear, beloved.

btw, I think this should be posted as Kudoz question, shouldn't it????
