WKI

Portuguese to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Banking
Can anyone suggest what WKI might mean here? It may well be an acronym that relates to an English term, since this text is for a multinational bank's Brazilian operation.

Aprovar através de alçadas competentes os projetos de valores até 9,9 h/m (estando dentro do orçamento total para Minor do ano), evitando com isto atrasos no desenvolvimento do negócio. Aprovação local para projetos até 9,9 Hm, desde que esteja dentro do orçamento toal para Minor do ano. O gestor de projetos faz o gerenciamento dos gastos e prazos de entrega do projeto, através do sistema de gerenciamento - GPDM. Se identificar alguma irregularidade ou ameaça no cumprimento do orçamento ou prazo, o assunto é reportado para alçadas competentes.

Thanks to all responders. Your combined input has given me something to go on, but I am going to have to query my provisional translation with the client. Hopefully, I should be able to post a definitive answer within a few days, as this client has so far been quite good about answering queries.

H/m I just thought these 9,9 h/m could mean "homens/mês", and that the major costs for any project involve manpower. But this is a marvelous guess, nothing else.

Working Capacity Index I found two references for WKI as Working Capacity Index. I've seen "K" used for capacity before, so this could make sense.

I agree. Poor writing is characteristic of this text as a whole, but this bit is particularly hard to decipher.

No real basis - merely absence of occurrence of 'WKI' in postings in Portuguese on the internet.

"Minor do ano" is also a bit puzzling.

They are probably using the English acronym because the letter W does not exist in Portuguese, just like we normally use DNA and AIDS, instead of ADN and SIDA.

wki is a vector of factor input prices, representing the price of labour, price of capital and price of fund respec- tively. In the estimated model, w1 represents the price of labour which is measured as a ratio of personnel ex- penses to total asset or personnel expenses as a ratio of number of employee.
