I'm going to slug you so hard your skull will burst

Obviously a Spaniard said this. Literally he promises to give him a "host" or wafer used in the Catholic Eucharist. It means he will him in the mouth or thereabouts with so much force that it will burst his cranium or skull.
I often heard this expression in Spain, but have never heard or read of Spanish speakers from other countries use it.

See below

The idea is: "I´m going to HIT YOU TO DEATH".

It´s truly Spaniard. The word "hostia" has very different aceptions:

1)Concrete meaning or litteral meaning:it means "Eucharistical wafer" (that's why your friend said that "it is the secret of life". But this is not the case!

2) Abstract meaning or context meaning:
it means: "I'm going to hit you"

It is also an expression of anger. Ex.:

Hostia! Qué mal que te portas!
(My God! How bad-behaviour you have!

Hope it helps!

I'm going to beat your head in

In English we generally talk about beating/smashing someone's whole head, not just the skull.

I'm going to smack you so hard your skull will crack open

The secret to life? I don't think so.
