Portuguese term

retificado

Portuguese to English Medical Medical: Cardiology term used in ECG report from Braszil
Hello: I find this term - "retificado" or sometimes "levemente retificado", etc. - used when referring to e.g. the pulmonary valve, the interventricular septum, etc. Am I right in thinking this can mean "flattened" in this context rather than e.g. "corrected", which sounds like a conscious action?

I decided "flattened" was what was meant.

I was thinking straightened but am having 2nd thoughts and think flattened might b more appropriate, e.g.:http://radiology.rsna.org/content/234/3/710.long
Paulinho Fonseca Aug 23, 2013:
Dear,
Do you mean post "straightened or flattened"?
Rachel Fell (asker) Aug 23, 2013:
There is RV overload, and I think you may be right: http://www.bsecho.co.uk/the-right-heart/
Would you mind posting it as answer?
Paulinho Fonseca Aug 23, 2013:
Hi Reachel, I agree with you when you use "fattened". I would use it in this context. What do you think of 'straightened'?
Rachel Fell (asker) Aug 23, 2013:

Paulinho Fonseca Aug 23, 2013:
Dear Rachel,

would you have more context where the term is used?

Thank you.

Is it just "altered"?

rectified

The medical term is "rectified", meaning corrected,as you well pointed out in your question.
Example sentence:

IN a rare surgery, a triple congenital heart defect was rectified and necessary reconstruction done in Bangalore last week on a 25-year-old Sri Lankan woman patient at the BMJ Heart Centre. The patient, Manjula Kumari, had a congenital heart defect with

Note from asker:
Thank you R_Mors, but that's where reconstruction has been involved; in my context I don't think this is the case.
