Hello everybody.
A client of mine sent me some html files and sked me to translate them with tag editor. Do I need to convert this html files in some ways before using them in tag editor or can I translate them with tag editor directly without any previous conversion? I have trados 6.5.2.419.

Thank you,

Annamaria

Directly translate in TagEditor Jun 15, 2005

No conversion is needed for html files. Simply open a file in TagEditor and translate there.

Good luck,

Dan

You can translate these straight in Tag Editor too.

Not all text showing in Tag Editor Jun 18, 2005

When I open an html file in Tag Editor, some of the text in the banners and graphics is not visible for translation.
Does this have to do with the DTD settings?
Please help.

Graphics vs. text Jun 18, 2005

Hi Jan,
Difficult to tell without looking at the file, but...

When I open an html file in Tag Editor, some of the text in the banners and graphics is not visible for translation.
Does this have to do with the DTD settings?

My best guess is that this is caused by the very fact that the content is graphics - not text.

Best regards,
Ralf

Thank you.
I've just started translating a few html files in tag editor. But when I close the file, it remains a tag editor file, while I have to deliver an html file. How can I obtain an html file froom my translation in tag editor?

Thank you,

Annamaria

Save as target or cleanup Jun 19, 2005

Hi Annamaria,
You can either save the file as 'target-only' (File - Save target as...), or use the cleanup process.

May I suggest you look at the interactive tutorials, and the File Formats Reference Guide? (Both are installed with T6.5.)

Best regards,
Ralf
