I am translating the KudoZ FAQ and I got stuck on those two consecutive sentences:

If two answers have the same number of net agrees, the last one entered is selected

The idea is that if two answers gather the same number of net agrees, the one that did so in a shorter (sic!) period of time may be better.

Huh? The one with shorter period of time is the first and not the second one, as far as I know how time works ...

My opinion anyhow is that in this Salomonic situation the second (later) answer can not be worse and can be better ("standing on the shoulder of giants") than the first one.

Is this the way the rules should be interpreted (and translated)?

TiA

Vito

No.

Example:

First answer given: 10:00
Second answer given: 11:00
Selection is made: 12:00

Agrees to first answer: 5
Agrees to second answer: 5

Time it took for first answer to get 5 agrees: 2 hours
Time it took for second answer to get 5 agrees: 1 hour

The time from the selection to the second answer is shorter than the time from the selection to the first answer.
