El Capitan and uppercase accented letters Thread poster: Lucia Messuti

Hello do you have an idea how to get a quick way to get the accented uppercase letters, such as è, à, etc.? I'm having problems both in Office and in Wordfast 4. If you keep the key pressed in, it will show you many options: then press shift 1, or shift 2 accordingly. Toon | | | Toon Theuwis (X) Belgium Local time: 14:34 English to Dutch + ... Same goes for capital letters | Nov 22, 2016 |

This also works with the German and Swiss German keyboard, though I don't know if this is of any help to Lucia... | | | Lucia Messuti Italy Local time: 14:34 English to Italian + ... TOPIC STARTER A shortcut key | Nov 23, 2016 |
Thanks for all your tips, but I'd rather prefer working with shortcut keys. Doing an uppercase accented letter seems quite difficult in this way, as you need to press shift+letter+ move to the requested accented letter. Moreover, I would also need this to be used in Wordfast PRO 3 and 4. Currently, I write the lowercase letter and then I use the Toggle case key, but it is still a waste of time. I have my keyboard set up for English and French and press a quick shortcut to toggle between them. (Being able to touch-type in both languages is required for that to work.) However, that doesn't solve the problem of upper case accented letters, which the link above does.
