Source text - Spanish El presente trabajo de investigación práctica, fue desarrollado con la finalidad de contribuir con la gestión, respecto a la determinación de costos de todos y cada uno de los productos, que actualmente ofrece a su amplia gama de clientes la Empresa Sociedad Comercial Otten Limitada, la que presenta una evidente informalidad en esta área, debido a que es una Empresa de carácter familiar que nace y mantiene vigencia en el mercado desde el año 1959.
Esto ha traído consigo un desconocimiento e insatisfacción por parte de Gerencia y Administración, ya que, actualmente no se ve reflejada una productividad con costos reales asociados, por lo tanto, una incertidumbre a la hora de determinar precios de venta, o bien aumentar, disminuir, potenciar o eliminar una determinada línea de producto.
Es por ello, que el objetivo general del trabajo se encuentra enfocado en la elaboración de una propuesta, de un diseño de sistema de costos, el cual contempla el desarrollo de modelos, normas y procedimientos adecuados, que permitan recopilar, registrar y reportar datos de los costos asociados a la producción, con la finalidad de proporcionar a la Administración información relevante que facilite la toma de decisiones.
Para la aplicación del diseño propuesto, en forma paralela se desarrolló un software bajo el lenguaje de programación Visual Basic .Net, el cual cumple con todos los requerimiento para la determinación tanto de resultados finales, como indicadores relacionados, que serán necesarios y útiles a la hora de revelar y procesar la información recopilada y analizada.
Translation - English The aim of this project is to assist the administrative function of the “Sociedad Comercial Otten” Limited Company in determining the associated costs of manufacturing the entire product range currently on offer to its varied client base. The company is lacking a formal process in this regard, due to its nature as a family-owned company which has been trading since 1959.
The consequence of this lack of formal process is discouraged staff members who are unable to attribute a real cost to the manufacturing of the products the company offers. They are not equipped to determine product prices, or to increase, decrease or discontinue certain product lines.
Therefore, the general objective of this project focuses on the preparation of a proposal for a costing system. The project consists of the development of adequate costing models, rules and procedures which allow information relating to the production costs to be collated and reported. The ultimate goal is to provide the company’s administrative body with a tool which provides information needed in the decision making process.
Alongside this model, a software programme has been developed which uses Visual Basic .Net programming. This software meets the standards for enabling the company to determine its final results, as well as related key indicators, which are necessary and useful when presenting or processing the collated and analysed costing information.
