English to French Tech/Engineering IT (Information Technology) Archives and documentation

Hi all,

I am translating an internal company document referring to two procedures:
- the "Documents Management procedure"
- the "Records Management procedure"

I am not sure of the difference between "documents" and "records" here.
I have thought of "gestion documentaire" in French - but then how can I distinguish the two different procedures at stake?
