Trados 7 and Multiterm 7 error...[null]

Got a similar problem today.

I was under Windows XP and today I've upgraded to Vista business 32 bit.

When I installed Trados 7 freelance a problem occured in the "Registering Components" phase. A message appeared telling me that "Microsoft Register Server" had a problem and closed. Then the installation process continued till the End.

Now when i try to open a TermBase in the Workbench i have this message :

MultiTerm 7 Cannot create

The selected Term Information Provider
returned the following error :

(-2147467261): (null)

I tried to do this :

Please follow these steps in order to see if your problems stop occurring.

1) Please go to Start à Programs à SDL Trados 7 and click on ‘Register SDL Trados 7 Freelance’.
A MS-DOS screen will open and you will have to wait till it closes.
2) The please open your TRADOS Workbench.
3) Go to the menu Options.
4) Select ‘Term Recognition Options and on the "Settings" tab please deactivate the option "Run terminology recognition in the background".
5) Close the TRADOS Workbench and reopen it to see if this solves your problem.


But everytime i try to register Trados, the "Microsoft Register Server" encounter a problem and close.
When i try to deactivate the option "Run terminology recognition in the background" the OK button remain gray and cannot confirm the changes.

Doing all this with admin powers, what can i do ? Please help ! ▲ Collapse

Ok i've resolved this situation.
The problem was that i've installed trados before office.

so how did you solve the problem? Did you have to uninstall Trados and install it again after installing office?
