Portuguese term

DOU FÉ OFIC.

Portuguese to English Law/Patents Real Estate
Hi, I was wondering if anybody could help me with translating this phrase next to where the signature is. It is part of a document relating to an oficio de registro de imóveis.

Many thanks

In witness whereof I certify to the truth

one way of translating this boilerplate expression....there are variations :

the "OFIC." next to it, could be short for oficial, but it really doesn't come into play when providing an English equivalent
