Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): GILLES MEUNIER

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Tony M Mar 24, 2019:
@ Asker Well, it does help actually, inasmuch as we now know that both technologies are / may be in use, so you may need to avoid choosing a word that would be inapplicable to the one or the other technology. Unfortunately, that's not easy, as the termo tends to be mutually exclusive: you might have to resort to an a / b solution and let the client sort it out; techncially,ir probably doesn't matter very much, since the only time anyone will really need to know is if they have the machine in front of them...
Jeff Whittaker (asker) Mar 24, 2019:
@Tony. Unfortunately, it doesn't. The bulk of the document is about what the system does and not how it works. Then there are these lists at the end without any context. There are also no details about the product available on line. The only mention of hydraulic / pneumatic is in this sentence which doesn't really help: "Les travaux sur les équipements pneumatiques ou hydrauliques ne doivent être exécutés que par du personnel ayant de l'expérience en pneumatique ou en hydraulique."
Tony M Mar 24, 2019:
@ Asker: Context? I'm sure the rest of your document must allow you to glean further clues; for example, do you know if this production system uses pneumatic, hydraulic, or other motive force? On that depends to a great extent which of the many translations of 'vérin' you're going to need... you can take your pick from the many entries already in the glossary.
