I'm translating a script from a series about custom bikes and cars, and I came across this phrase:
"I really came up kind of in the most core way possible."
I don't understand what do the speaker mean by that, before that he was asked if he attended the Art Center College of Design.
Any help is very much welcome!
Thanks!

The English is awkward and vague, but it is well possible to imagine such words coming out of the mouth of a younger native (US) speaker.
Perhaps there are clues elsewhere in your text as to what exactly was meant, but the general idea seems to be that the speaker has learned the craft under discussion beginning at an early age, in a hands-on fashion, and/or via the intermediation of an important mentor(s), perhaps someone in his own family.

Saludos cordiales.
