Note: These figures concern the tax treatment of large firms, which account for the bulk of total R&D investment in OECD countries. “ys” indicates the approximate number of years needed for a full depreciation of investment in machinery, equipment and buildings devoted to R&D activities. A level of 100 implies that the related expenditures can be fully depreciated during the year incurred. SL indicates a straight-line depreciation scheme, and DB a declining balance scheme. C, M, and B, are abbreviations for current expenditures, machinery, and buildings, respectively.
Note: ln a natural logarithm, and D the first-log difference operator. All regressions are estimated with the SURE method (seemingly unrelated regression equation) that corrects for contemporaneous correlation of the error terms. B-P is the Breush-Pagan chi-squared test statistic which tests for the presence of contemporaneous correlation. T-statistics are shown in parentheses; *** implies that the parameters are significantly different from zero at a 1 per cent probability threshold; ** at 5 per cent; and * at 10 per cent.

Translation - English The German frontier workers
General considerations
In order to receive benefits in the country of residence, frontier workers must lodge a claim to a health insurance fund from their place of residence and produce a certificate (E106), which can be obtained by a request to their fund.
This certificate will have to be issued by the private employees' reception section of the health insurance fund and will remain valid as long as they are not cancelled by the health insurance fund of the place of residence.
The issuing of the above-mentioned certificates proceeds automatically, as soon as the membership with Centre Commun de la Sécurité Sociale has been registered.
Indeed the certificates will be sent respectively once a week each Thursday to the worker's home address.
If no form E106 has been received 14 days after receipt of request for statement, please order it from HERE.
Reimbursement of medical payments
The orderly invoices and lists of charges paid for treatments administered in a country other than the country of residence are to be addressed to the health insurance fund for private employees.
In order to guarantee a quick refund, policyholders will be asked to indicate the treated person's reference and an account number in a financial institution of their choice (IBAN-Number and BIC-Code (SWIFT)).
The insured frontier workers and their family members can come under the same benefit conditions in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, as it applies to persons having residence in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.
Co-insurance
According to the regulation, if a person has made a claim to obtain benefits for a family member, only the legislation of the health insurance fund of the place of residence shall apply.
For this purpose, the health insurance fund of the country of residence produces a certificate, which can be obtained, stating that the family members of the policyholder who has a health insurance in Luxembourg are co-insured.
