factura del clarinete Sistema Romero

español al inglés Arte/Literatura Música 13-key clarinet characteristics
Hello fellow linguists,
I wonder if anyone with knowledge of musical history and instrument making might be able to help me make sense of the above phrase? It is for a historical account of a famous instrument maker and the phrase in question comes from a sentence in which a jury of the Paris Exhibition Universelle awards a particular make of clarinet a silver medal and praises 'la calidad de factura del clarinete Sistema Romero.'
I can't imagine that the literal meaning of 'factura' ('invoice of the Romero System clarinet') is what is intended here.
I thought it might be something more like 'inventory' or 'composition'/'makeup'?
The full sentence from which it is taken is below:
En su catálogo del año 1892 se mencionan las palabras del jurado de la exposición, en ellas se elogia la calidad de factura del clarinete Sistema Romero: “Este clarinete estaba admirablemente acabado en todos sus detalles”.

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Thank you, Elizabeth.
agree Robert Carter : Appears to be an alternative form of "hechura", from the same root.

Thank you, Robert. I didn't know that but it's plain to see now.
agree neilmac : Excellent solution (I was thinking fabrication/manufacture, but this is better)

Thank you, Neil!
agree philgoddard : There is an English word "facture", though it's not really in use any more. http://www.dictionary.com/browse/facture

Thank you, Phil. Oh, that's fascinating. Thought I'd found some references with "facture" in some very old texts about musical instruments, but each one ended up being an example of "manu-facture."
