Respecto a la valoración de las pupilas en un paciente que ha sufrido un traumatismo craneoencefálico, la enfermera debe saber que:

a. Se considera que son mióticas cuando su tamaño se sitúa entre 1,5 y 3 mm.

b. Se considera que son midriáticas cuando su tamaño se sitúa entre 5-6 mm.

c. Cualquier cambio pupilar puede indicar una probable afectación del tronco encefálico.

d. Cuando se aplica un estímulo luminoso, se produce una dilatación como respuesta normal.

e. Todas las opciones anteriores son correctas



I am concerned about the measurement of 5 mm Hg

the latter is usually a pressure measurement, 5 seems very low indeed!

so are they talking about the size of the pupils here?

a fixed pupil would have a measurement of "...mm".

whereas intraocular pressure has a measurement of "...mm Hg".
