Spanish term

bajada y/o subida masiva

Spanish to English Tech/Engineering Computers: Software AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINES

Discussion

María Eugenia Wachtendorff (asker) Oct 23, 2008:
Dear all: I sincerely appreciate your efforts, but my client phoned me as soon as his plane landed in Santiago and clarified this mess.
Where it reads "bajada" and "subida," it should read "alta" and "baja"!!
Therefore, I am closing this question without grading.
Thank you!

Massive download and/or upload

I cannot be certain about this, because even the whole paragraph doesn't geive me enough context of what is going on in general. Is this a software to manage ATMs? If so, this seems to be a reasonable translation
Note from asker:
Thank you, M. Let's wait and see what others have to say. The software is to manage a whole ATM network (central host, financial institution hosts, communications, etc.) This particular section is entitled "Monitoring." I am lost here. Nothing seems to make much sense to me :(

heavy download and/or upload traffic

I think 'heavy traffic' is the usual term

From Computer, Telephony and Electronics Glossary:
traffic - The load of packets carried by a network or portion of a network. Heavy traffic slows down the response time of the individual packets.
