German term
Bauteilewagen
German to English
Tech/Engineering
Aerospace / Aviation / Space
Aircraft engineering
Context:
"Die betreffende Baugruppe wird ausschließlich im Bauteilewagen transportiert"
In the specifications (Lastenheft) for an installation (cf. http://www.proz.com/kudoz/4445683 etc.).
I expect that this may be "part trolley/cart/truck" or "component trolley/cart/truck", but can't find any evidence to back such a literal translation up. Can anyone confirm what these trolleys are actually called in the industry? I seem to remember trolleys also being referred to as "dollys" in some contexts, may that apply here?
* Sentence or paragraph where the term occurs: See above
* Document type: Performance specifications
* Target audience: Engineers/contractors
* Country and dialect (source): Germany
* Country and dialect (target): American English

parts cart
Seems to be the term used for Boeing planes. See photo towards the bottom of the page from the first link. Second link is a Google search for Boeing and "parts cart".

The BE must be "parts trolley". Found lots of hits for this at Google.

Note from asker:
Great, thanks, although my context tends more towards EADS/Airbus. |
