A Unique Look – When you look at the whole vehicle—from the side, from the rear—it is definitely a crossover, and different than the previous SRX. It sits a little taller, it sits a little more cab forward with the windshield, so it doesn’t look like a station wagon. The roof reaches back seeming to go beyond the rear of the car, the upper sections tapering down giving the SRX an almost coupe-like profile.
Integrated Spoiler – There’s an integrated spoiler on the rear edge of the roof, which not only extends the line by approximately 4", but also improves aerodynamics contributing to SRX’s impressive 0.35 coefficient of drag. The spoiler contains the Center
High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) with 20 LED points-of-light for impressive visibility.
Vertical Tail lamps – It’s all flanked by the vertical tail lamps in the rear of the car which are strong cues for Cadillac. They extend past the liftgate surface and wrap up and over the top giving the SRX the look of contemporary tail fins, a unique Cadillac signature. The lamps, which are approximately 14" in height, incorporate more than 40 LEDs per lamp, each with their own reflecting surface.
Power Liftgate with Memory Height – The liftgate on SRX collections is fully powered and can be raised or lowered by a simple push of a button on the driver’s door via a touchpad on the liftgate handle or remotely with the key fob. The liftgate is custom height-programmable, making it adaptable to the size constraints of any garage, or the height of any person. The power liftgate is quieter, faster, visually appealing due to the use of a hydraulic single strut drive rather than an electrically driven mechanical rotary mechanism.
Pass-through Exhaust Rear Fascia – At the rear of the SRX, the dual exhaust tips, instead of hanging down below the rear fascia, are fully encapsulated. It gives the SRX a more refined premium look.
UltraView Sunroof – This sunroof covers more than 70% of the vehicle’s roof area and is one of the largest offering of its kind in the mid-luxury crossover segment. The system—which has fixed glass in the rearward portion of the unit—comes with power tilt, index-sliding, and Express-Open features. An interior shade, which provides 100% protection from sunlight, is material and color-matched to the headliner.

Interior Design & Styling
When you sit inside the SRX you’ll find that this is a 5-passenger crossover for the style-conscious customer. Everything is finely tailored from the hand-cut-and-sewn coverings on the instrument panel to the ambient lighting, which flows through the instrument panel, doors, sills and footwells.
Extending Cadillac Design Cues inside – With the functional qualities in this luxury crossover, designers were looking for refined ruggedness. Looking forward from the driver’s seat, you can see the centerline crease that is part of the exterior design echoed just above the center stack.
Even the center stack itself refers to the SRX grille with its shield-shaped design flanked by vertical vents. As part of the refined ruggedness approach, plated metal frames outline these features. All the lines and surfaces on the IP have crisp and rigid profiles. Every part of this design looks solid, helped along by the sculptural 3-D trim on the doors.
Integrated Center Stack – The center stack is designed with a pearl metallic finish surround which keeps the instrument panel lower and sweeping forward and away from front occupants. Control knobs are tuned for feel and have a higher chrome finish, enabling a high-feature, “double metallic” appearance through the heart of the interior.
Hand-cut, Sewn and Wrapped Surfaces – A specific three-dimensional grain low-gloss, soft-backed material covers upper instrument panel and door trim. French seam stitching is used throughout the cabin.
Premium Wood Trim – SRX has highly finished wood appointments, including a specific “Sapele” grain — a real wood species appliqué.
Luxurious Ambient Lighting – Light-pipe technology enables clean, white ambient LED lighting positioned in the door pulls, sills, foot wells and recessed between the upper and mid levels of the instrument panel.
Bold, Black-on-White Instrumentation – The instrumentation is tightly packaged with a wellorganized, chromed cluster defined by bright accents and includes speedometer, tachometer, fuel gauge and engine water temperature.
Unique Driver Information Center (DIC) – The DIC is a 2-1/2" round high-resolution color graphic display that also serves as a vehicle compass placed in the center of the speedometer, a perfect location for the driver. With controls on a steering wheel column stalk, the DIC provides more than 25 warnings and messages and serves as an additional screen for Ultrasonic Front Parking Assist, StabiliTrak off or on and delivering directions from the vehicle’s navigation system.

Flexible Driving Position – The flexible driving position works for all kinds of drivers. The seat adjustment provides more than 10" (270mm) of fore/aft movement and 2-1/2" (65mm) of vertical travel. The fore/aft travel is greater than the current SRX model. The front seat provides added support under the driver’s legs with more than 2" (60mm) of thigh extension.
The telescoping steering wheel moves rearward for drivers with long legs and the tilt feature can help improve IP cluster visibility, and even the armrest slides 3" (80mm) fore and aft to provide better elbow support. Adjustable pedals keep short drivers from hovering over the wheel, helping prevent a potentially unsafe position for air bag deployment.
Segment-Leading Comfort – Seat design was based on dozens of evaluation rides in various seasons and climates including side-by-side competitive comparisons. Engineers and designers ensured seams were tight by increasing the stitches-per-inch ratio. The result is not only a detailed, high-end upholstered appearance, but one that is crafted to be durable.
Controlling Comfort – An 8-way power driver’s seat and 4-way manual passenger seat are standard on the SRX. 8-way front passenger power lumbar and heated seats are standard on all collections above the base 1SA. Heated outboard rear seats are standard on Premium Collection vehicles as are ventilated driver and front passenger seats.
Climate Control – The standard climate control system on the SRX is a dual-zone, fully automatic design with individual settings for driver and front passenger. A tri-zone climate control system is available on Premium Collection models, providing separate controls for rear-seat passengers.
Personalized Comfort – Memory package is included on all uplevel packages. This system recalls two “presets” for power driver seat, outside mirrors, driver personalization features and the power adjustable pedals, if equipped.
60/40 Split-Folding Reclining Rear Seat – This flexible design includes an equipment pass-through, which provides the ability to carry long items and still keep the rear seating positions in use.
Rear Vision Camera – On vehicles equipped with the navigation radio (UYS), when shifted in reverse, a rear vision camera provides a panoramic rear view with unique “guide” lines showing the vehicle’s anticipated path.
Interior Comfort & Convenience
For 2010, SRX is a dedicated 5-passenger crossover. This configuration is more aligned with the competitive vehicles we’re targeting. The idea is to lead the competition with a comfortable, flexible accommodation strategy. Engineers thought long and hard about the interior size. The goal was not to provide the “most” space, but the “right” space.
Interior Comfort & Convenience
A Place for Everything, and Everything in its Place – SRX was not meant to provide the most storage volume, it was meant to provide highly organized storage for the real world. The thoughtful result is that storage in the SRX is easily within reach, storage bins are sized appropriately and standard equipment can be stowed in a logical useful place.
Center Stack Storage Bin – This storage area has a door that slides down and out of the way for better access providing a perfect spot to hide your phone. A 12-volt power outlet lets you charge your phone at the same time.
Console Bin – This bin aft of the shifter provides a place for your key fob on this push-button start vehicle.
Dual-Depth Cup Holders – This unique design provides deeper, more secure storage for beverages including enough space for a one-liter bottle.
Dual-Depth Center Console Storage – Equipped with independent access buttons, the center console has two dedicated storage areas. The upper bin is ideal for holding cosmetics or a camera, while the deep lower bin is perfect for storing a remote control or even larger personal items. It also has an auxiliary power outlet and USB connector for use with an MP3 player and 3.5mm auxiliary jack.
Dual-Tier Cooled Glovebox – This unique glovebox has an upper shelf for maps, owner’s manual and smaller items, and a lower bin that is large enough to hold a two-liter bottle. The lower bin is connected to SRX’s air conditioning system to keep drinks or other snacks cool on hot days.
Dual-Tier Door Storage – Both front and rear doors on SRX provide impressive storage.
Rear Passenger Storage and Amenities – There are upper and lower storage bins and a power outlet at the rear of the center console and a folding center armrest includes cup holders and a hidden storage area.
Rear Cargo Area Storage – The rear cargo area is impressive with nearly 30 cubic feet of cargo volume with the rear seat up. The wheel wells are 44" apart, ensuring that they don’t intrude into the space. With the standard tie-downs, you can use an available net to keep items in the place. There is also a unique U-Rail Cargo Management System in the rear of the SRX that will allow the use of an available, adjustable cargo cargo fence.
Unique Underfloor Storage – Lifting the load floor, you’ll find two storage bins. The front bin holds an inflator kit or other smaller items and the rear bin can hold larger items like backpacks or sporting goods.

* Mid-model year availability.
The 2010 SRX has an impressive powertrain story. You have the choice of All-Wheel Drive or Front- Wheel Drive and also choices in engines. One of our key messages is efficient performance and we get it with two V6 engines that promise to change what you might have thought about V6 power.
Power & Handling
Premium Luxury Crossover Architecture – This unique architecture is designed to provide confident, inspiring, predictable body motion, precise steering and smooth and comfortable feel of the road. It features a Body Frame Integral design with extensive use of high-strength steel which not only creates an effective safety cage, but also provides a stiff structure needed to add finely tuned suspension components. It’s a platform for standard frontwheel drive and an available advanced on-demand, electronically controlled all-wheel drive system with eLSD.
Front Suspension – This is an independent twin tube passive MacPherson strut design with specifically tuned coil springs, a direct acting stabilizer bar which is hollow and hydraulic ride bushings, which provide good wheel control and isolation.
Rear Suspension – This is an independent, linked H-arm design with a hollow stabilizer bar and monotube passive shocks.
Two Suspension Levels
• FE2 Touring suspension is standard on all FWD models and the AWD Luxury Collection.
• FE3 Sport suspension is included on AWD configurations of the Performance Collection and Premium Collection.
Two Steering Systems
• Standard – Quick reacting hydraulic assist, speedsensitive, rack-and-pinion steering system, which is tuned for responsiveness, good on-center feel and driver feedback.
• Uplevel – The ZF Premium steering gear is a specially calibrated hydraulic power-assisted rack-and-pinion system with variable effort functionality. When the SRX is driven in Sport Mode, the variable effort changes to provide excellent precision and feel of the road.
Four-wheel, Power-Assisted Disc Brakes with ABS – Rotors are vented with aluminum calipers front and rear. The front calipers are a 2-piston design.
• Ready Brake Alert – This system closes the gap between pad and rotor based on how fast your foot is coming off the accelerator.
• Panic Brake Assist – This applies additional brake force to maximize deceleration.
StabiliTrak Stability Control System – StabiliTrak uses a yaw sensor, lateral accelerometer and steering angle sensor to continually monitor the driver’s steering input and the vehicle’s actual course. If the vehicle does not respond properly, StabiliTrak automatically engages the appropriate braking and traction controls to help the driver get back on the intended course.
Roll-Over Mitigation – The enhanced StabiliTrak system on SRX includes Roll-Over Mitigation, which senses the potential for vehicle rollover, such as during violent evasive maneuvers, and applies brake pressure to the outside front tire to manage lateral tire grip and reduce the tendency for vehicle rollover.
Advanced All-Wheel Drive – This new system delivers power to the front wheels during normal driving conditions and to the rear wheels as well when slippage is detected on rain-slick pavement, snow or mud. It can identify other performance situations where torque to the rear wheels is needed. For example, when you’re accelerating from a stop light, the system can, based on throttle position and other factors, transfer as much as 100% of the torque to the rear wheels. The system is automatic and works seamlessly with no driver action required.
Electronic Limited-Slip Differential (eLSD) – The All- Wheel Drive system raises the ante even more with an electronic Limited-Slip Differential. This standard feature can transfer as much as 85% torque side to side along the rear axle. Not only does this help when your vehicle has the right wheels on a snowy shoulder of the road at slow speeds, it also shines in performance driving. While systems like StabiliTrak, which is also standard on SRX, operate by activating brake systems to keep a vehicle on its intended path, the All-Wheel Drive with eLSD uses torque. It gives the driver enhanced control when cornering hard or completing a high-speed maneuver, such as a lane change by momentarily applying more or less torque to either of the rear wheels to help the rear of the car follow the direction of the front wheels.
Continuously Variable Real-Time Damping Suspension – The FE3 Sport Suspension, available only on AWD vehicles with 20" wheels, includes a continuously variable active damping system, which calms vehicle body movement, reduces roll, pitch and vertical motion and it happens continuously. For example, when you are doing an active lane change, the system gives you better control and handling. The system uses body, wheel and lateral acceleration sensor inputs to determine the proper damping values and activates the damper valves at each corner of the vehicle independently. The damping force is changed every two milliseconds.
Passive Entry System – This available feature lets you unlock and enter the vehicle with a personalized fob. With the fob in your pocket or purse you can approach the locked vehicle, pull the door handle and open the door or liftgate.
Push-Button Start – This standard feature allows you to start or stop the engine with the press of an ignition button located on the instrument panel, just to the right of the steering wheel. To start the vehicle, the fob must be inside the vehicle and the brake pedal must be depressed.
Adaptive Remote Start – This feature is included on all Collections. It operates from as far as nearly 330 feet and not only starts the vehicle, but also activates the automatic climate control and optional heated and ventilated seats depending on temperatures outside and inside the vehicle.
Performance & Personal Technology
Infotainment
Three Radio Choices Standard Radio (UYE) – This system includes AM,
FM and includes a CD player with MP3 playback and USB connectivity. This is a stereo system with Bose 8-speaker Centerpoint surround sound technology, which plays great sounding simulated surround sound. The standard radio has an auxiliary jack and RDS.
Uplevel Radio (UYZ) – This system adds a 10-speaker Bose 5.1 surround sound system and 2GB internal flash memory which can become a virtual CD changer. You can copy about 20 CDs into the system and even add album titles and artists names. Requires Rear-Seat Entertainment.
High Navigation Radio (UYS) – This system adds a 40GB hard drive system, which allows you to load a larger library of entertainment on the vehicle for those longer trips. 10GB are available to store music. An embedded “Gracenote” database automatically adds CD titles and artist names to music you have digitized to the hard drive. This system doesn’t require a navigation disc so your DVD slot is always available for entertainment. This system includes the 10-speaker Bose 5.1 surround sound system and works closely with the available rear entertainment setup.
Unique Infotainment features Timeshift – SRX’s uplevel radio choices include a “timeshift” capability, allowing a user to pause, rewind and replay AM, FM and XM radio programming. For example, if you have a phone call during an interesting broadcast, you can take the call and pick up the broadcast where you left off. You have approximately 20 minutes of timeshift storage.
USB Connectivity – An auxiliary audio jack and USB port are standard on the SRX. You can bring music files to the vehicle on a jump drive, iPod, Zune or other digital music player, plug it in and listen your music using the vehicle controls. SRX’s standard audio system supports MP3 and WMA files. The M4A compression format is supported by the uplevel systems.
Navigation
The SRX navigation system includes a 8" high-resolution, pop-up touch screen providing comprehensive information. The system can be operated by voice recognition, which allows you to look up directions to a specific address even when driving.
Rear Seat Entertainment – This available system includes twin seatback mounted flip-up LCD video screens with 8" WVGA color display and 16:9 aspect ratio. Auxiliary video devices like video games, can be played independently on the rear screens, or a DVD movie can be played on one screen, while gaming takes place on the other. Video input jacks are integrated into both screen modules, or can be accessed at the rear of the center console. It will also playback DIVX® files from an optical disk.
Library Quiet – The Body Frame Integral structure of the Premium Luxury Crossover Architecture on SRX has helped create a “best-in-class” library quiet acoustical performance approaching levels found on $100,000 luxury sedans.
Managing NVH – Engineers have accurately managed powertrain, exhaust and driveline noise, wind noise from aerodynamic details and road noise from tire to-road contact. Designers also blocked noise with damping materials at the front-of-dash, optimized damping on floor treatments and have used acoustically laminated windshield and front side glass.
Stiff Body Structure – With a Body Frame Integral structure, the upper body structure and the sub-frames are engineered as a single unit, enabling a mass efficient, yet very stiff body structure. The result is an ideal foundation for effectively tuning, eliminating or isolating powertrain, road and wind noise.
• Underbody rails run continuously from front to rear, giving the body exceptional strength.
• There is also a double-isolated engine cradle that contributes to the vehicle’s overall quietness, outstanding noise and vibration performance and ride and handling dynamics.
• Adding to the precision reaction to steering inputs and overall on-center feel, this architecture includes an under cradle brace constructed of high-strength steel, offering the same performance benefits of an underhood tower-to-tower brace.
Direct Injection V6 – Direct injection represents a simplified approach to increasing power and saving fuel. It introduces fuel directly into the cylinder where it mixes with air versus the intake port on typical engines. The fuel vaporizes in the cylinder and the air and fuel mixture is cooled. This allows use of a higher compression ratio in the combustion chamber, which increases power and improves fuel economy. Less fuel is required to produce the equivalent horsepower especially at normal cruising speeds of a conventional port-injection system. In this application the engine helps raise the SRX’s standard power rating by 5 hp while achieving an estimated 10–15% fuel economy improvement. There’s also an added benefit. The use of unique pistons in the system also helps reduce cold-start emissions by 25%.
Cadillac has always had a tradition of design innovation and trend setting luxury standards. You can see it in every vehicle. There is also an aggressive approach to Quality, Reliability and Durability, which has resulted in bringing SRX to a leadership position within the luxury crossover segment.
Quality, Reliability & Durability
Safety & Security
Safety is a key consideration for many Cadillac customers, and the SRX is designed to deliver comprehensive safety before, during and after a collision.
Before
StabiliTrak Stability Control System – StabiliTrak uses a yaw sensor, lateral accelerometer and steering angle sensor to continually monitor the driver’s steering input and the vehicle’s actual course.
Available Advanced All-Wheel Drive with electronic Limited-Slip Differential (eLSD) – This system provides an added benefit in control, by having the ability to direct torque to individual wheels, sending it not only front-to-back but from side-to-side along the rear axle. While the stability control system uses ABS and braking events to correct direction, the All-Wheel Drive system provides added power to help control the path of a vehicle.
Four-wheel, power assisted disc brakes with ABS
• Ready Brake Alert – This system closes the gap between pad and rotor based on how fast your foot is coming off the accelerator.
• Panic Brake Assist – This applies additional brake force to maximize deceleration.
Adaptive Forward Lighting – This self-leveling system uses data from vehicle speed and steering wheel angle to increase nighttime visibility.
• This system automatically pivots the vehicle’s headlamps, enhancing illumination in the direction of the turn.
• If the vehicle travels straight, the light beam automatically raises slightly to increase headlamp range.
• At vehicle speed less than 31 mph, headlamp range is automatically reduced.
Tire Pressure Monitoring System – The system transmits tire pressure readings from each tire to the Driver Information Center so the driver can take action to ensure all tires are properly inflated. A graphic on SRX’s unique DIC shows real-time PSI values.
During
During the SRX development, Cadillac used computer model simulation to evaluate over 30 crash events. SRX will meet all MVSS crashworthiness requirements, achieves top rated scores in NCAP and IIHS crash tests, and protects passengers in a wide range of accidents.
High-Strength Steel – The new premium luxury crossover architecture provides a body structure constructed of a combination of high-strength, dual-phase, and martensite steels. This combination contributes to the vehicle’s overall crashworthiness. The body structure is designed to manage loads, essentially transferring the energy of a crash and absorbing it to protect occupants. This vehicle has improved strength in side impacts and improved roof crush performance.
Dual-Stage Frontal Air Bags – These air bags deploy at one of two different rates depending on the severity of the collision.
Driver and Front Passenger Seat-Mounted Side- Impact Air Bags and Head-Curtain Side Air Bags – Help protect the front and rear outboard occupants in certain side-impact collisions.
Passenger Sensing System – This system automatically turns off the front passenger frontal air bag to help protect small adults who may be injured by the force of an air bag deployment..

• A double-wishbone design replaces rear strut suspension, increasing the width between wheel wells by about 6", improving rear passenger and cargo packaging.
• Active Torque Control AWD system uses electronically controlled coupling instead of the viscous coupling.
• Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM) integrates braking, steering, Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control.
• The steering system is now electronic, compared to the previous hydraulic system.
• Available Head-Up Display and updated navigation system with a more intuitive “joysticklike” Remote Touch Controller with advanced voice-recognition
Key SRX Selling Advantages
• SRX features a dramatic yet functional design. The SRX stands out in a segment filled with vehicles that look the same. It couldn’t be more true than with the 2010 Lexus RX. It’s difficult to tell the difference from 2009’s bland styling.
• SRX has an optional uplevel high performance powertrain. A high performance powertrain is not available on the Lexus unless you consider the new Hybrid RX 450.
• The Lexus RX 350 spec’s recommend premium fuel. SRX’s standard engine uses regular.
• The SRX AWD system includes an electronic Limited-Slip Differential, which is not available the RX.
• SRX has available 20" wheels. The RX’s largest wheels are 19".
• A branded Bose entertainment system is standard on every SRX. A branded audio system is optional on the RX.
• Tri-zone climate control is available on SRX. You can’t get it on the RX.
• SRX has intuitive easy-to-understand touch-screen navigation. A touch screen is not available on the Lexus.
• RX 350 buries its 12-volt and USB outlets deep in the center console, and require a shelf to be removed to access them. SRX has 12-volt and compartment for phone in front of the shifter. The USB is easily accessible in the center console.
SRX Design vs. RX 350
• High Design – The Luxury SUV segment has been referred to as a “Sea of Sameness.” You can see it in the bland styling you see on all competitors. Reviewers have consistently called the design of the 2010 Lexus RX 350 evolutionary. With the SRX, you find a dramatic, bold look—one that won’t get lost in the crowd.
• Dramatic Presence – With what Lexus calls the “L-Finesse” formula, the RX has become a little more angular with an “arrowhead” shape providing the common theme. The 2010 Cadillac SRX meanwhile provides dramatic presence. Our target customers want to make a statement in their lives. SRX does the same with its striking and unique look.
SRX Performance vs. RX 350. Comparable Standard Power – The RX 350 is powered by an updated 3.5L VVT V6 mated to an all-new 6-speed “multi-mode” automatic transmission. It generates slightly more horsepower and torque (275 hp/256 lb.-ft. torque) than the SRX’s 3.0L DOHC VVT Direct Injection V6 (265 hp/223 lb.-ft. torque). But, SRX has more power per liter. The 3.0L engine is combined with the Hydra-Matic 6T70 6-speed automatic transmission with manual shift control.
• SRX High Performance Engine Choice – With the SRX, you can choose the all-new 2.8L DOHC VVT Direction Injection V6 that produces 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. torque. Lexus does not offer a high performance engine option on the RX 350.
SRX Technology vs. RX 350
• eLSD Not Available on the Lexus – While Lexus offers a new all-wheel drive system on the 2010 RX 350, which allows power to move fore and aft depending on traction and performance requirements, it does not offer an electronic Limited-Slip Differential like the one on SRX which allows torque to move side-to-side along the rear axle. This provides additional help in low traction situations and can also be used to control performance driving by placing torque where it’s needed most.
• Continuously Variable Suspension – The Lexus RX 350 has a good ride and handling story with a stiff structure, MacPherson strut suspension up-front and a unique double-wishbone rear suspension, but it has nothing like SRX’s available unique continuously variable, active-damping FE3 suspension, which calms body movement. Available on AWD vehicles with 20" wheels, the system changes damping force every two milliseconds, reducing roll, pitch and vertical motion.
SRX Comfort & Convenience vs. RX 350
• Connecting an iPod – A USB port for connecting iPods is available at extra cost on the Lexus RX 350. Every SRX comes equipped with a standard digital auxiliary input and USB connector for portable music players and jump drives containing audio files. With the USB connection, all functions of the player are controlled using the audio system controls.
• Bluetooth Connections – Bluetooth is on the Lexus RX providing not only hands-free phone usage, but also portable audio players enabled with Bluetooth can wirelessly stream music to the audio system. Hands-free Bluetooth phone connections are standard on SRX Collections.
• Navigation – The Lexus RX 350 has an available Hard Disk Drive navigation system, which utilizes a higher resolution 8" LCD places closer to eye level. Voice-recognition or a more intuitive “joystick-like” Remote Touch Controller controls the system. SRX’s available voice-activated navigation uses a unique pop-up 8" high-resolution touch-screen with full voice recognition capabilities. You can’t get a touchscreen on the RX 350. SRX’s DIC placed in the center of the instrument cluster serves as an additional screen for all navigation messaging.
2010 Cadillac SRX vs. 2010 Audi Q5 Competitive Comparison
Competitive Comparison
Audi Q5 Overview
The Q5 is Audi’s first entry in the luxury crossover segment. It shares much of its styling and rounded shape with its big brother, the Audi Q7, but it is built off the same architecture as the new A4 sedans and wagons and the A5 coupes. It is an All-Wheel Drive, five passenger vehicle powered by a 3.2L V6 and featuring Audi’s Quattro Drive system with 60% of its torque being sent to the rear wheels in normal driving.
From the front, the Q5 is unmistakably an Audi, but when viewed from the side, the styling tends to blend in to the background. Reviewers have been generally positive about the Q5, but certainly not as positive as Audi’s marketing group, which says that “the Q5 transcends what it means to be a crossover.”
• 2008 Sales: n/a

• SRX gives customers a choice of FWD or AWD while the Q5 is available with only AWD—whether you want it or not.
• SRX’s standard 3.0L V6 engine produces 265 hp, virtually the same rating as the Q5’s standard 270 hp 3.2L V6. But while the Q5 offers only one engine choice, SRX offers a 2.8L turbocharged V6.
• The Q5 requires premium fuel. SRX’s standard engine uses regular.
• The SRX AWD system includes an electronic Limited-Slip Differential, which is not available on the Q5 quattro.

Competitive Comparison
SRX Design vs. Audi Q5
• Bold design – The 2009 Q5 with Audi’s single frame shield grille shares design traits with the Q7. There’s no mistaking that it is an Audi, at least from the front. Turn the Q5 sideways, and it immediately starts to blend in with the rest of the field. The Q5 has been described as “pretty” while the SRX is described as bold. The SRX with its dynamic stance and vertical fin-like tail lamps stands out in the crowd.
SRX Performance vs. Audi Q5
• More engine choices – The Q5 is powered by a very capable 3.2L direct injection V6 that generates 270 hp, very similar to SRX’s standard 3.0L engine, but with the Audi, there is no other choice for power. The SRX offers a 2.8L Turbocharged V6 turning out 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque. A turbocharged engine is not available on the Q5.
SRX Technology vs. Audi Q5
• eLSD Not Available on the Audi Q5 – Audi offers the latest generation quattro All-Wheel-Drive system with a front/rear torque split of 40/60. This rear-wheel drive oriented system allows power to move fore and aft depending on traction and performance requirements, but it does not offer an electronic Limited-Slip Differential like the one on SRX which allows torque to move side-to-side along the rear axle. eLSD provides additional help in low traction situations and can also be used to control performance driving by placing torque where it’s needed most.
• Continuously Variable Real-Time Damping
Suspension – The Q5’s available Drive Select controls the vehicle’s adaptive suspension, steering, transmission shift characteristics and engine response and provides four distinct driving modes. But SRX takes suspension characteristics to the next level with the available continuously variable, active-damping FE3 suspension, which calms body movement. Available on vehicles with 20" wheels, the system changes damping force every two milliseconds, reducing roll, pitch and vertical motion.
SRX Comfort & Convenience vs. Audi Q5
• Connecting an iPod – The available Audi music interface offers integration of the iPod allowing use of vehicle audio controls for listening. The iPod is connected through the glovebox. Every SRX comes equipped with a standard digital auxiliary input and USB connector for portable music players and jump drives containing audio files. The connectors are located in the center console, providing easier access than the Audi
glovebox location.
• Navigation – The Audi Q5 MMI is Audi’s navigation system. It includes a 7", full-color LCD screen and a 40GB hard drive. SRX’s available voice-activated navigation uses a unique pop-up 8" high-resolution touch-screen with full voice recognition capabilities. You can’t get a touchscreen on the Q5.
