The Glossary of the Danube navigation has been prepared by the Secretariat of the Danube Commission to harmonize terminology, used in the official documents related to the various fields of the Danube Commission’s activity in its official languages (German, French and Russian) as well as in English, and has been issued according to the Plan of publications for 2013, adopted by the Decision DK/TAG 79/23 of 18 December 2012. The Glossary, summarizing a long-term activity of one of the oldest international organizations in Europe, was compiled by the interpreters and proofreaders of the Secretariat of the Danube Commission. The Glossary includes words and expressions used in the main documents of the Danube Commission covering all fields of its expertise. The terms are given in columns 2-5, broken down by languages, in compliance with the sections: 1. Nautical issues 2. Technical and radiocommunication issues 3. Hydrotechnical and hydrometeorological issues 4. Exploitation and environmental issues 5. Statistical and economic issues 6. Legal issues 7. Titles of documents, conventions and international agreements 8. Abbreviations
