The infinitely variable focal length permits fast and accurate framing, as well as a dramatic reduction of undesirable effects such as flaring and ghosting.
There are few perfect filming situations - achieving a high picture quality in challenging lighting situations demands an advanced lens system like X Optix. In this example, if filmed with a non-Optix lens, the contrast between the bright background and the dark subject causes numerous light reflections inside the lens system — resulting in a dull, grey image. Unlike many other lens systems, all lenses (not only the front-lens which is visible from the outside) in Optix optics are specially coated to avoid these problems in everyday filming situations.
