Swedish term
Prövningen startar sedan fem mornar i rad med ...
Swedish to English
Medical
Medical: Pharmaceuticals
Drug study: Time expression
Patients suffering from a certain chronic condition have been invited to participate in a study aimed at testing the effectiveness of several selected drugs. The testing will be conducted for a period of one week, during which the patients are to stay at the testing facility, with their food and beverage intake closely monitored, etc. For several days, each morning starts with the collecting of certain clinical data on the patients, following which that morning's round of medication is administered. (After a suitable interval the data is re-collected so that "before" and "after" figures can be compared.) The corresponding passage discussing this reads as follows:
"Prövningen startar sedan fem mornar i rad med ... "
I originally came up with a translation of "The test starts five mornings in a row with ... " but this wording seems a bit awkward. An alternative might be "The test will be conducted for five consecutive mornings and starts with ... " On the other hand, maybe there's a less wordy way to translate this. Does anyone have any alternative suggestions?
