getting a bit tired of the inconsistencies in my Portuguese-English dictionaries ;-(( a final de contas is it GOOSEBERRY, CURRANT or CRANBERRY? (just to make things more confusing I have never seen any of these fruits in Brazil and yet it used to be the flavour of a common cheap fruit drink here)

it's OK Antonio - I must have explained it all wrong... so let me try it all over again: it's a fruit whose concentrate was used in the 60's by Brazilian low-income families to make drinks and alcoholic cocktails (mostly with cheap cachaca)... I have no other context or photo - just the name "groselha"... so perhaps anyone with the knowledge of Brazilian realities could tell me what fruit it is (in English) - or point me to a photo (and then I'll be able to choose the English name for it)

I mean, I know what gooseberry looks like - I want to make sure it really is what GROSELHA is... that fruit in the pic for instance I have never ever seen in Brazil - in no "sacolao" and in no other shop either ;-&

Tenho estado a falar da "red currant" porque desde miúdo que associo a groselha (xarope/bebida) à cor vermelha. A "red currant" é aquela a que se chama groselha comum.

My dictionary only has "gooseberry" for "groselha".
