Can anyone give me any suggestions about what "pr." might be short for?
I am translating a "passaggio di consegne" drawn up by the chief engineer
Some parts of the doc are in English, others in Italian:
"CARGO EQUIPMENT
pompe carico n.1-4 buone
pompa carico n.2 (vitoni a terra
pompa carico n. 3 rinnovare tenuta meccanica lato pr.siamo in attasa del tecnico"
I have written it exactly as it appears in the ST. "in attasa" should be "in atteso" and I assume that there should be a space between "pr." and "siamo"
If it helps, elsewhere the term "lato dr" occurs, which I thought might be "lato destra":
"works under progress [sic]
appena possibile rinnovare tratto tubazione f.b. generatori (piano pagliolo lato dr)"

Comment: "Many thanks! I also asked a friend of a friend who is in the Italian navy and he comfirmed it to be "lato prora" and lato dr. is "lato dritto" apparently, as sailors say "dritto" for "destra""
