I think I'll post it as a separate question.

To Karl Where do capacitors come from? Are you trying to confuse me more than I am already? :-) This is obviously not my field, but is part of a patent for a regular client of mine.

to connect to a DC voltage

An Spannung legen simply means to connect to a voltage. I draw a blank on the bonus question.

agree Dr. Fred Thomson : I can't recall the use of anything but DC in the US.

agree Colin Newberry : "DC" sticks out, "d.c." could easily go under.

Connect to DC voltage

Klaus is right. As to the bonus question, it is referred to as forming the capacitors in English. Electrolytics need to be "Formed" after sitting idle for a long time... months.

Sorry...I didn\'t read it right the first time. Was thinking about electrolytic caps in a rectifier or inverter. The electrolyte has be made to coat the plates again after the caps have been out of service for a long time, otherwise they blow up. This is known as forming. Your simply slowly raise the voltage over a period of time to get it back on the plates. Don\'t know if this applies to \"Katalysator\" though.
