German term

überschlägige Kapazitätsmessung

Homework / test German to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Messtechnik

In this context, "capacitance" would perhaps be better suited than "capacity". It has to do with a device measuring voltage, resistance and other electrical quantities. "Capacity" seems to be rather similar to volume (with units of litre / gallon etc) while "capacitance" has the units of F (Farad - though most commonly encountered capacitors have micro or even pico Farad values!)

agree Richard Stephen : I perfer the wording 'measurement of capacitance', however 'estimated' would be just as good as 'approximate'

estimative capacitance measurements

Peer comment(s):

neutral Richard Stephen : Technically correct, but sounds rather 'stilted', see above

gauging estimated capacity

sounds simpler and more understandable than "capacitance measurement", IMO
