The original says "Beschädigungen oder Auslösungen", hence my "damage to lightning conductors ... or tripped fuses"

Well I'm willing to be corrected :-) But I've never seen Auslösungen used like this before. Are you sure you don't want to change your mind? :-)

: tripped, yes. Auslösen for dettachment does *not* work in German.//oops, forgot the "not".

: To the best of my knowledge, „Auslösungen“ can't be used that way in German. Ablösungen, ok, but not Auslösungen.

I took it to mean whether something might have "gelöst""aus" something else, but you are right, calling that an Auslösung is indeed a novelty :)
