This procedure provides a visual verification method to test the operating performance of the UIT equipment.

Intensity tests should be performed on sample coupons manufactured from xxxx Steel and to a precise geometry of xxxx" (L x W x H).
Before treatment, a baseline height for the coupons should be measured on a flat surface...
Treat the sample coupon for xxx ...
Ensure the surface is completely treated without missed zones ...
Using the measuring device, measure the *arc height* of the treated coupon.


This step only needs to be performed once to establish the foundational relationship between coupon arc height and compressive stress depths.
- Select a xxxx piece of standard steel of known metallurgy (reference plate). Draw xxxx squares on the surface of the plate. All squares should be at least xxx from each other and from
any edge of the reference plate.
- Using a UIT tool treat each square at a different power setting.
Maintain a record of which square was treated with each power setting.
Each square should be treated for xxx minutes with relatively uniform coverage being applied to the square.
- After treating each square, immediately treat a sample coupon (same power setting & time duration) and measure the resulting ***arc height*** using the method found in the “UIT Equipment
Verification Procedure”.

-Perform X-ray diffraction on the squares to determine compressive stress depths in the treated
areas of the reference plate.
