When implemented in connection with EGPRS Systems, the polling field 1302 may be a Combined EGPRS Supplementary/Polling (CES/P) field.

In some examples, the second poll is received from the network in a Combined EGPRS Supplementary/Polling (CES/P) field. In some examples, the network is at least one of a General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network or an Enhanced GPRS (EGPRS) network. In some examples, the example method further involves, priorto receiving the second poll, sending capabilities to the network indicative of resource assignment types compatible with the mobile station.

Liaison descendante : lorsque le réseau souhaite que la station mobile MS accuse réception des blocs transmis par le réseau en liaison descendante, le réseau interroge la station mobile MS, c'est-à-dire établit ou valide le bit "S/P" (S/P = supplémentaire/interrogation) de l'en-tête MAC (protocole de commande d'accès au support) à 1 (interrogation ou demande d'accusé de réception). Ensuite, la station MS envoie un message dit "Packet Downlink Ack/Nack" (accusé de réception positif/négatif de liaison descendante de paquet) au réseau pour accuser réception (positivement ou négativement) de tous les blocs entre le bloc le plus ancien non reçu et le dernier bloc correctement reçu.
