But in English, there are important differences, please check

Does it mean cancer? Ciao Bruna. See the definition that I posted below in Eren's answer, plus these other two here ... does "eteroplasia" definitely mean cancer in Italian?

1. Development of cytologic and histologic elements that are not normal for the organ or part in question, as the growth of bone in a site where there is normally fibrous connective tissue.
2. Malposition of tissue or a part that is otherwise normal, as a ureter that develops at the lower pole of a kidney.
Synonym(s): alloplasia

. Non hai bisogno di aiuto. Cosa significa ETP lo hai già scoperto, quella era la parte più ostica. Ora devi solo tradurre cancro al polmone in inglese, e sicuramente sai come farlo. Tutto qui ;)

As seen in this (and many other) link(s), heteroplasia is not a neoplasia, which means "cancer".
Peer comment(s):

neutral Joseph Tein : I didn't think that "heteroplasia" existed in English, but I checked my medical dictionary: "The development of tissue at a location where that type of tissue would not normally occur." This doesn't necessarily mean cancer, however (as I understand it).

agree DFTGames : pulmonary heteroplasia is the proper translation (literally, then in a context it could become less technical and more graphic)

disagree texjax DDS PhD : There are virtually no records for "pulmonary heteroplasia" except for the cited article, which does not seem to refer to lung cancer. In Italian eteroplasia polmonare means lung cancer.
