quasi-community property system
This was the conclusion on the trad-prt listserve a few years ago.
Only the property acquired AFTER marriage is considered community property Since 1976 this has been the usual (automatic) system in Brazil, and those who want full separation or the “universal” will have to sign a prenuptiual agreement.
In translating a document for use in the USA, probably OK to translate as “community property system” as it would be understood as being same as the US concept. In fact, that's what I've been using.

It is a legal system term for marriages. When a man and a woman marry, they marry wih the condition tht the wife marries him and has full or partial right over the asssets of the husband.
