Bio
Hi! It’s Paulo Ribeiro from Brazil. I hope you’re doing awesome or at least great!
Hmm? Ah, about the way I was introduced to the “world of languages”? Well, it all started with video games—of course. First, English. Then, Japanese. As I have chosen Japanese, why not Chinese? And finally, Latin to read bestiaries and grimoires—everyone’s favorite. Oh, I almost forgot, French too to read more grimoires, François Rabelais, and some literary classics—well, my classics like Maurice Leblanc. Now I am pursuing some certifications to help you even more and at the same time I am wordsmithing bridges between people.
I have read more than 148 books, watched more than 509 anime/donghua, finished more than 131 different game titles, and I still make mistakes, so please send feedbacks. We all need some to improve. We are here to make the world even better.
And yes, I have the list of all that. What can I say? I am Virgo, so I must organize things.
It will be a pleasure to help you with linguistic solutions!
Now for the boring stuff:
As you can see, I am a native Brazilian translator with a bachelor's degree in English Translation. Yes, unfortunately, my course focused on Translation Theory, so I know a little about Friedrich Schleiermacher, Lawrence Venuti, Eugene Nida, Itamar Even-Zohar, André Lefevere, Minako O'Hagan, and many more (and I forgot everything by now… Yeah!). Yet, I still remember the translation strategies from Andrew Chesterman, and Corpus Linguistics.
And the important stuff:
FIELDS OF WORK
IT: apps; software and website localization; product catalogs; social engineering; user manuals.
Literary: alternative medicine; esotericism; fasting; metaphysics; mythology; New Age; occultism; self-development; short story.
Let’s do our work to connect people and services, making all human knowledge available to anyone—OK, OK… all human knowledge isn't all rainbows and unicorns, but you got my message, right? So let’s get started!
