Source text - English Renaissance artistic imitation at its simplest consists of cutting and pasting. If we look at a painter from Palladio's period and region, Jacopo Bassano, we can see how in an early work (1536) he uses an engraving after Raphael of a seated figure, and ably and naturally transforms a young woman into a little girl. Palladio's own earliest design efforts are a montage of motifs from the Palazzo Te, Raphael's Palazzo Branconio and palace façades in Venice and Padua. By the mid-1540s Palladio became a more skilful imitator, distancing himself from these ingenuous early efforts.
For Palladio, making architecture soon became much more than a matter of pasting orders or portals onto a palace façade. A stone mason, concerned with designing and executing portals, tombs and altars, might see Antiquity as offering (via sketchbooks) a wonderful 'mail-order catalogue' of capitals, entablatures and so on, to use in small, structurally undemanding works. But for an architect like Palladio, things could not be so simplistic. A holistic view of buildings (encouraged by Alberti) and a commitment to a total recreation of ancient architecture raised other considerations: typologies, overall planning, structure and function.

In the first case, 3 or 4 color plates subdivided into tiny printing dots mix to innumerable color shades and tints. In the second case, a plate for black also subdivided by a screen in tiny dots mixes with the white paper in just as innumerable tones of white--grey--black.

Source text - English In the next fifteen years, technology will change in numerous ways that can be leveraged for education. It is important that educators understand these innovations so as to influence their development rather than simply react to it. As noted earlier in this report, ideally technology and education will co-evolve, with educational needs driving technological progress as well as adapting to it. Outlined below are some of the technological advances most likely to impact teaching and learning from a global perspective.
1. Technology will be more accessible, affordable and functional
While unforeseen technological innovation is certain, the advances that will have the greatest impact on education will likely stem from a continuation of the current and most important trends in technology evolution – namely improved functionality, connectivity and memory at lower costs. Increased availability and penetration of ‘smart’ mobile devices and cloud-based services with advanced functionalities will open up a world of new possibilities for mobile learning solutions, allowing the types of initiatives that are currently happening to be replicated on a large scale. Many experts imagine a day where every learner in the world has access to a powerful touch-screen tablet device and can afford both the hardware and the connectivity that enables fast and seamless access to the internet and/or other networks.
1. Devices will be able to collect, synthesize and analyse massive amounts of data
According to IBM (n.d.), 90% of the data in the world today has been created in the last two years alone. Increasingly, data is being collected in a multitude of forms: from personal data to institutional data, most information is being recorded. This vast global data set is commonly referred to as ‘big data’. In the education sector, big data can come from many sources: profiles of student work, assessment results, attendance records, GPS coordinates, time spent on particular tasks or assignments, and information produced or used by students, including texts, pictures, videos or music. In the future, devices connected to the cloud will have the capacity to synthesize significantly larger amounts of data and begin analysing them for patterns. Mobile devices will be able to quickly manage and process data sets much larger than current tools can handle. This increased ability to collect, synthesize and analyse data will enable new opportunities in areas such as learning analytics and learning profiles.
Translation - Spanish En los próximos quince años la tecnología registrará muchos cambios que podrán ser puestos al servicio de la educación. Es importante que los educadores comprendan esas innovaciones, para que puedan influir en su desarrollo y no contentarse con reaccionar a él. Como ya se ha señalado aquí, lo ideal sería que la tecnología y la educación evolucionaran en paralelo, y que las necesidades educativas impulsaran el progreso tecnológico además de adaptarse a él. A continuación se esbozan algunos de los avances tecnológicos que con mayor probabilidad harán sentir su impacto en la enseñanza y el aprendizaje desde una perspectiva global.

En el futuro los dispositivos conectados con la nube podrán sintetizar cantidades de datos mucho mayores y empezar a analizarlos en busca de pautas. Source text - English Previous generations of Africana philosophers have argued over the meaning of the different forms of philosophizing among the community of African and African descent philosophers. Certainly those debates were fruitful. The sub-text for such debates, however, was often an effort to establish that African people were rational agents, members of the human family, and that African authored cultures are civilized and embody norms equal or superior to foreign cultures. Such sub-text often treated ideas as conceptual tools to help African people struggle against colonial, racial, or ethnic oppression.
Contemporary philosophers have given voice to new philosophies and thereby have initiated a new community of dialogue. Such dialogue takes account of knowledge regimes as multiple sites and as regimes that empower; such dialogue has forged new philosophies that may rely on traditional sources but create their own voices; such dialogue does not legitimate itself by claiming to be the authentic voice of all genuine Africans as if the ‘authentic’ African is a sort of epistemic essence encoded in the biology of everyone; and such dialogue is now a voice on the world stage of philosophy.
‘Africana Philosophy’ suffers the same conceptual problem as other ethnographic cultural names such as Americana, Western, Eastern or Continental Philosophy. Each signifies a population as if it were a collective cultural entity, when in fact it is home to radically different philosophical traditions and individual approaches. Each also makes a region represent a cultural community, submerging real internal language, religious and political boundaries. All such names systematically mislead us into thinking that an undifferentiated cultural kind is being referenced; that kind is presumed to have a set of common general traits. Given the way that these names entrap, we should be constantly engaged in a critical use of such names, while bearing in mind that it is always from a place that philosophies develop, and that it is from that place that they can offer, if not a universal, a universalizable way of thinking.
Translation - Spanish Generaciones anteriores de filósofos de la africanidad han debatido el significado de las diferentes formas del filosofar en la comunidad de filósofos africanos y afrodescendientes. No cabe duda de que esos debates fueron fructíferos. Su subtexto, sin embargo, fue a menudo un esfuerzo de demostrar que los africanos eran agentes racionales, miembros de la familia humana, y que las culturas de origen africano eran civilizadas y encarnaban normas iguales o superiores a las de las culturas extranjeras. Con frecuencia ese subtexto hacía de las ideas herramientas conceptuales para ayudar a los africanos a luchar contra la opresión colonial, racial o étnica.

Cada una de ellas señala a una población como si se tratara de una entidad cultural colectiva, cuando lo cierto es que acoge tradiciones filosóficas y planteamientos individuales radicalmente diferentes. Cada una también hace a una región representar a una comunidad cultural, subsumiendo el lenguaje interno real y las divisorias religiosas y políticas. Todas las denominaciones de esa clase son sistemáticamente engañosas, en la medida en que inducen a pensar que se está aludiendo a una clase cultural indiferenciada, en la que se presume un conjunto de características generales comunes. Habida cuenta de la trampa que encubren esas denominaciones, deberíamos estar siempre atentos a darles un uso crítico, sin olvidar, por otra parte, que las filosofías siempre se desarrollan desde un lugar, y que es desde ese lugar desde donde pueden ofrecer una manera de pensar, si no universal, al menos universalizable.
