This open-air museum, in the heart of the Trieste Karst, close to the spectacular Duino cliffs, takes you on a journey to discover what was the southernmost point of the front ever crossed by the Italian army. It was here, in the autumn of 1916, that the Austro-Hungarian soldiers formed the great line to defend Trieste, exploiting the natural characteristics of the Karst, with its many sinkholes and caves.
