There have been, starting at least as early as October 2007, many forum posts from ProZ members asking for the "Most Recent Posts" to show more than the past two days of posts, which is the current situation.
Examples:
  • http://www.proz.com/topic/87838 (started 28 Oct 2007) Only one page of "most recent posts"
  • http://www.proz.com/topic/140276 (started 17 Jul 2009) Number of topics shown on the "latest posts" list

Proz has not implemented the requested modification, but here is a method of achieving, in effect, the required result, and needing a little more work than simply clicking on the "Most Recent Posts" link:
  1. In "Member activities / Forums" (http://www.proz.com/forum/), go to the forums "Advanced search" page: http://www.proz.com/?sp=forum&action=SearchForum&advanced=y or use the "Advanced search" link just above the "Most Recent Posts" link;
  2. Select the required period from the "Post date:" drop-down list, e.g. within 2 weeks;
  3. If you wish, select a language in the "Forum language:" drop-down list;
  4. Now you need a bit of work in the "Search specific forum(s):" list:
    1. Click on the first forum you want (e.g. Translator resources in the "Art of Translation and Interpreting" group)
    2. Scroll down the list if necessary and, while pressing the "Shift" (up-arrow) key on the keyboard, click on the last forum you want (e.g. Social Networking in the "Software and Internet" group); this selects all the forums between the first and the last
    3. Hold down the "Ctrl" key (bottom left of the standard keyboard) and click on each of the forums that you want to exclude
    Having selected all the forums you want, the time range and the language, select "Topics" or "Posts" in the "Show results as:" drop-down list below the list of forums
Then click on the "Search forums" button, and you will be shown the list of results, similar to the "Most "Recent Posts" list. Example: I have done this just now, for 2 weeks, English forum language and nearly all forums except "Non-English forums" and the last 14 forums at the end of the list of forums. The result is a list of 345 topics, which I can look at as I wish.

I hope this is useful to some of you!

I didn't notice this when I made the previous post:
When the search gives you a list of topics or posts and you want to read more than one of them (very likely!) you should read each one in a tab or window separate from the tab or window in which you did the "advanced search". In the FireFox browser, I do this by pointing to the item I want to read, and pressing the scroll wheel, not the left mouse button. How to save your search parameters Feb 24, 2014

In "Member activities / Forums" (http://www.proz.com/forum/), go to the forums "Advanced search" page: http://www.proz.com/?sp=forum&action=SearchForum&advanced=y ...

If you visit that search page but don't perform any search, and you save the HTML file to your computer (usually Ctrl+S, and then select "HTML" as the save option), and you edit the HTML file a little bit, you can create a custom search page that pre-fills the form with exact same search parameters every time you open that HTML file.

So, open the saved HTML file in a Unicode aware text editor and perform the following changes:

1. Find: form action="/
Replace with: form action="http://www.proz.com/

2. Optional step, to make it easier to find stuff in the file...
Find: <option
Replace with: LINEBREAK <option
(depends on how to F/R a line break in your text editor, e.g. ^p or /n or \n)

3. The search parameters are called "options". An option is between an <option opening tag and an </option> closing tag. Delete all options that you don't want. For example, if you want to always search in the past 2 weeks, change this:

<select name="post_date">
<option value="">Anytime</option>
<option value="1_week" >Within 1 week</option>
<option value="2_week" >Within 2 weeks</option>
<option value="1_month" >within last month</option>
<option value="3_month" >within last 3 months</option>
<option value="6_month" >within last 6 months</option>
<option value="1_year" >within year</option>
</select>

into this:

<select name="post_date">
<option value="2_week" >Within 2 weeks</option>
</select>

4. Save the HTML file. Double-click the HTML file every time you want to perform the search (you'd still have to press the "Search" button, and you may still have to click in the list of forums and press Ctrl+A before pressing the "Search" button).
