What are the language contests? I keep seeing them posted on my feed.

They're not language contests, but translation contests. Here are some links:

They run every few months or every few years. Only paying members can submit entries (remember, ProZ.com uses the word "member" for a paying member, the word "user" for a non-paying member, and the word "visitor" for a non-registered user).
